Boston Terrier Rescue of North Texas - Special Needs

Toby Hi, I am Toby and I am a rescue with the Boston Terrier Rescue of North Texas (BTRNT). I am doing better now, but I was a sick, sick little boy there for a little while!

One Texas summer day, I slipped out the door to go exploring and it was way too hot. It was more than 100 degrees that day and I got very overheated, which is not good for little Boston kids like me. A shelter worker picked me up and tried to cool me off quickly by icing me down but they cooled me down too much and my body temperature went to 10 degrees below normal. They tell me this was bad.

My foster dad found me at the shelter and got me to the ER vet but by then I was starting to have seizures...it was very scary. It didn't look good for me, I could barely raise my head. I wouldn't eat or keep water down. I had to stay at the ER vet for 4 long days. I was in an oxygen tank most of the time, with warming blankets and IV fluids and lots of meds. There was a real chance something bad could have happened to me but the plasma infusions did the trick and my bloodwork was finally normal.

Thanks to the vets at the ER hospital and my loving foster dad and the rest of my rescue family, all of our prayers were answered. I have made a full recovery!!

I'm feeling much better now but boy I sure scared everyone. I heard my little adventure cost the rescue over $3000! Wow, I must really be special. I want the rescue to be able to help save more sweet Bostons like me. Can you help my Boston Rescue family?
