Sponsorship is required in order to be considered for club membership. You are welcome to attend a club meeting to introduce yourself and to acquire sponsorship.

Dues are $15 per year for single membership or $20 per year for two people at the same address. Our membership year runs from January 1 through December 31. Renewals are due January 1. Checks should be payable to the North Texas Boston Terrier Club, Inc. Please mail your check and this application to:

NTBTC and BTRNT CODE OF ETHICS

This code is presented as a guideline for the use of our members when buying, breeding, selling, and exhibiting Boston Terriers. It is based on the Boston Terrier Club of America’s Code of Ethics. Violators of the North Texas Boston Terrier Club Code of Ethics will be subject to prompt action under our discipline and charge procedures.

I will:
1. Abide by the Constitution and By-Laws of the North Texas Boston Terrier Club, Inc. and the rules of the American Kennel Club.
2. Maintain my dogs in the best possible standards of care, cleanliness noiand health.
3. Breed only those animals that will improve the breed and maintain the breed standard.
4. Assure that any dogs or bitches I do breed are in good health and free from communicable diseases and disqualifying faults.
5. Use available testing to screen for genetic disease specific to Boston Terriers.
6. Refuse to breed my dogs or bitches with an animal owned by a person directly involved with puppy brokers, puppy mills, litter lot sales or any other commercial enterprise involved in similar activities.
7. Keep accurate breeding records, registrations, and pedigrees.
8. Establish service and sales agreements in writing, agreed upon and signed by all parties involved.
9. Provide to buyers all health records, pedigree, and AKC registration or transfer documents unless otherwise agreed upon and stated in writing prior to sale.
10. Advertise honestly and not misrepresent my animals or myself.
11. Refuse to sell or adopt any Boston Terrier to anyone unable or unwilling to provide evidence of ability to properly care for the animal.
12. Sell or adopt no Boston Terrier to a commercial facility, puppy broker pet store, puppy mill or their agents.
13. Hold myself responsible for the welfare of every dog I breed and/or sell.
14. Conduct myself at all times in such a manner as to reflect well on Boston Terriers and the sport of purebred dog showing.
