Hi Everyone, We don’t usually ask
for donations & if you have donated recently please disregard this. We
are in need of funds for Mr. Eko. This poor boy has been through so
much & now has pneumonia. He is spending his days at the vet clinic
that has oxygen & at night we take him to the Emergency Clinic, so
this is costing a lot of money. He will be in the Emergency Clinic all
week-end & they aren’t cheep. If you can afford even $5.00 we would
appreciate it very much & so would Eko. He came to us on July 4 th
with very bad skin & he was skin & bones. The vet thought he may have
sarcoptic mange so he was dipped twice but on the second dip, he had a
reaction to it & he also got an ear infection. After that he was
neutered & swelled up to the size of a baseball. Then he had his
heartworm treatment & did ok but when he got the microfilaria
treatment on Monday he went down hill. He now has pneumonia & is very
sick. His vet bill will be in the thousands but he is a very deserving
boy. Very sweet & calm & is only a yr & a half old. If you can help we
will be very grateful.
Update on Eko. Nov 15th. Eko is
doing very well now thanks to East Dallas Veterinary Clinic & Lake Ray
Hubbard Emergency Clinic. He spent his days at the vet clinic & his
nights in the ER so that he could be in oxygen all the time. He had a
reaction to his heartworm treatment rather than pneumonia. He is very
lucky to be alive. His vet bills were a little over $3000.00. So far
we have gotten about $1000.00 to help. We are still in need.
Update on Mr Eko. Nov 26 th. Eko had
a set back last week & was back on oxygen. We are trying to wean him
off of it & so far so good. He is back on his bronchial dilator &
steroids, as well as antibiotics. It will be sometime before he will
be able to be adopted. Hopefully by January.
UPDATE 1/27/07
Eko is doing good now. He got his
heartworm preventative last week & did fine so I think he is ready for
his forever home. If you are interested in Eko please fill out our
application. He would do best in a home with a female dog that is not
alpha or a smaller dog that is not alpha.
